FULL FORM: UNIVERSAL MACHINE MONITORING

GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION:

MEANING: UMM is the monitoring of the working of all types of machines DIGITALLY, with minimum human intervention, 24×7. There are 3 aspects to UMM :

1. Collecting data AUTOMATICALLY from machines (by IoT Box plugged into m/c) and some data MANUALLY inputted by a TAB (mainly related to stoppage of machine for reasons other than Operator performance. E.g. Power cut, tool change, no material, Job changeover, preventive maintenance, etc.)

2. Transmission of Data to the Cloud & processing by CLOUD based software.

3. Generation of Reports in ‘Real Time’ which give true & clear picture about the performance of each machine every hour/shift/day/week or month. This help to plan corrective actions & monitor effectiveness of actions.

REPORT EXAMPLES:

BONUS: ALERTS are received by designated people based on thresholds or limits set by Managers. For Example, A limit of 10 minutes will set of ALERT to Supervisor if any machine does not start working after more than 10 minutes after shift change.

RESULTS: The results are generally like these.

• OEE increase : 17%
• Downtime decrease in night shift: 23%
• Tool Consumption Drop in Night Shift: 19%
